| EUROPE, April 9, 2007 – BenQ today announces that six of its lifestyle design products have been honored with the prestigious 2007 red dot design award for their innovative design and excellent quality and functionality. The awarded products span over four product lines including the four-time award winner DC X720 digital camera, Joybook S41, two LCD monitors and two ultra portable mobile TVs.
BenQ’s awarded products include FP785+ LCD monitor, FP91R LCD monitor, DC X720 digital camera, Joybook S41, PMV 700 mobile TV and PMV 400 mobile TV. The products will be exhibited in the special exhibition “Design on stage – winners red dot award: product design 2007” from 26 June to 23 July 2007 in the red dot design museum in Essen.

 The four-time award winner - BenQ DC X720 features an ultra slim stainless-steel body at a mere 12.5mm. It has garnered recognitions from major internationally-renowned design awards including the 2006 iF China Design “Top Selection” Award, the 2006 G-mark Good Design Award and the 2007 iF Design Award for its smooth, elegantly crafted, blade-like design.
The product assessment is carried out by an international jury of renowned design experts. They examine and test the products and assess them according to criteria such as degree of innovation, functionality, ergonomics, durability, ecological compatibility and clarity of function. This year, companies from 43 countries with a total of 2,548 products faced the jury’s verdict.
