| Starting in 2010: strategic relocation, proximity to competition and market, expanded responsibilities in Europe, central base with high cost efficiency
EUROPE, November 13, 2009 - BenQ Deutschland GmbH will move its headquarters from Hamburg to Oberhausen effective January 1, 2010. This is a strategic move driven primarily by the realignment of the company’s European regions. Plans are also in development for transferring additional country responsibilities to the new company headquarters as a result of strong business performance in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH region). Oberhausen is ideal for satisfying the requirements associated with this and it's close proximity to BenQ’s European headquarters in Eindhoven. Region West, where many of the company’s customers are located, will be readily accessible from the new office. Many competitors have moved to this area and are already taking advantage of the quality of this business location.
A strategic move This step is a strategic component in a series of measures that have been successfully implemented by the BenQ management since October 2008. The first part of this strategy was to create a centralised umbrella organisation (DACH region) under BenQ Deutschland GmbH. The product portfolio was then gradually consolidated around the current core business of monitors and projectors. The move to Oberhausen will have other positive effects, such as high cost efficiency and a more central location when it comes to the market and the competition.
Solid ground for business BenQ Deutschland GmbH offered all permanent employees of the Hamburg office a new contract for the future Oberhausen site with the aim of continuing to work together in the future and giving the strong business development new impetus from this new location. "We are convinced that this strategic move will lay a solid foundation for successful business performance over the long term," emphasised Oliver Barz, Country Head at BenQ Deutschland GmbH. "The geographic advantages and extensive optimising in terms of efficiency and costs will put our business on solid ground and set the course for further market growth." |
